To Join The Following Initiative Early Learning Assistant – TERM OverviewWorking under the direction of the Early Childhood Educator, the Early Learning Assistant (Extended Day Program) assists in the provision of childcare to students after school (including professional activity day and school break periods); enhancing child‑based play; encouraging and guiding, and modeling appropriate behaviour techniques. Performs other duties to support the overall objectives and goals of the program. A working knowledge of English is required.
Required Qualifications- Completion of a high school diploma.
- Minimum one (1) year post‑secondary experience providing childcare to school‑age children in a group setting.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
- Valid Standard First Aid certification/CPR Level C from a WSIB approved provider is required.
- Police Record Check for the Vulnerable sector, valid within the last 6 months, is required for new employees to the OCDSB (valid within the last 5 years for current OCDSB employees).
- Immunization record with MMR and Tdap vaccination is required.
- Declaration of previous chickenpox (or chickenpox immunisation) is required.
$19.79 + 4 % vacation pay per hour.
