Health & Safety Instructor - Heights Trainer

Position: Health & Safety Instructor (Working at Heights)

Employment: Full-time

Location: Ottawa, ON

Salary: $65, to start, DOE

Worksite Safety Compliance Centre is looking to add another Instructor to our current training team, specifically for the delivery of our CPO-approved Working at Heights program. If you are a knowledgeable and experienced health and safety instructor who is passionate about construction safety education and keeping workers safe, this role is for you!

This Health & Safety Instructor will deliver training full-time at one of two locations in Ottawa. There may also be an opportunity for this instructor to train others on confined space entry, first aid and/or mobile equipment use (forklift and elevated work platforms). The position reports to the Manager, Instructor‑Led Training.

• Deliver engaging and informative Working at Heights training to job seekers, the general public, and new and current members of the construction industry.
• Evaluate participants through practical skills and written evaluation.
• Organize, file and submit digital and hard copy participant records following training.
• Participate in team meetings and instructor development workshops.

• 3+ years experience delivering training (Working at Heights program preferred).
• Background in construction management and/or other fall hazard‑related industry.
• Work experience or certification in occupational health & safety preferred.
• Forklift, mobile elevated work platforms and confined space entry and rescue considered an asset.
• Active certification as a Red Cross First Aid Instructor considered an asset.
• Strong interest educating people on the importance and value of health & safety training.
• Self‑starter who is able to work independently, while also contributing to a team.
• Strong presentation and adult‑engagement skills.
• Valid Ontario Driver Licence – occasional travel by car for work.
• Able to legally work in Canada.
