The Ottawa Catholic School Board is seeking a part‑time Library Technician for a 10‑month permanent position. The role will operate the school Learning Commons and provide services in an automated/digital environment to meet the needs of staff and students.
Job Description- Operate the school Learning Commons and provide services in an automated/digital environment.
- Promote authors, books, literacy, technology and hold special events.
- Perform administrative functions associated with the Learning Commons and/or school.
- Coordinate volunteers’ activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Degree or diploma in a relevant field (e.g., Library Technician, Information Science).
- Minimum two (2) years of related experience.
- Expertise with Insignia (or similar library software systems), Google Suite, computer hardware and software, mobile technology, and various AV equipment.
- Comfortable learning and promoting new technologies (3D printing, robotics, coding, Cricut, etc.).
- Positive team player with the ability to work independently.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- Individuals possessing an equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
The annual full‑time salary range is $49,117–$52,809, prorated for a 0.50 FTE position. An employee benefits and pension package is also provided.
The anticipated start date for this position will be February 2, 20xx.
