Ottawa Catholic School Board is seeking a temporary Bus Attendant for St. Pius X High School (1481 Fisher Ave.) for the period January 19, 2026 to April 30, 2026. The role involves loading and unloading students, ensuring their comfort and safety, and working closely with school staff and bus drivers.
Responsibilities- Assist with bus loading and unloading of children in developmental education programs.
- Ensure students’ comfort and safety during transportation.
- Collaborate with school staff and vehicle driver to facilitate safe transfer of students.
- Maintain required documentation as needed.
- Uphold confidentiality of student information.
- Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience working with children with exceptionalities (asset).
- Previous school board experience (asset).
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Team player with good decision‑making ability.
- Up to date First Aid and CPR (asset).
- Familiar with split shifts; must be available to work before and after school on split shifts.
- Will provide an original Police Record Check for the vulnerable sector.
Split shifts (morning and afternoon routes) 5 days per week, except professional development days and regular school breaks. Bell times: 8:20 am and 2:40 pm.
Salary & BenefitsHourly wage: $23.32 / hour + 4 % in lieu of vacation pay.
