Everyday Banking Advisor / Conseiller en services bancaires courants
Our client, a Big 5 Bank, is actively hiring Everyday Banking Advisors to join their teams in Ottawa, ON on a contract basis. This position offers a hybrid work environment, with one day in office per week.
LocationOttawa, ON – Hybrid (one day in office per week)
Responsibilities- Receive 40‑60 inbound calls per shift.
- Handle day‑to‑day inquiries: everyday banking questions, account openings, password changes, credit‑card charge inquiries, etc.
- Respond to client inquiries with empathy, assist with a range of banking solutions, and resolve concerns at the first point of contact.
- Contribute to team results by supporting all colleagues in meeting client needs.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with partners to foster a unified team approach.
- Manage risk by adhering to compliance routines, processes, and controls to protect client and shareholder interests.
- Educate and assist clients with using the bank’s digital capabilities.

- Éduquer et assister les clients à l’aide de leurs capacités numériques.
- Fluency in English and French (reading and speaking required). Language testing will be administered.
- At least 6 months of previous call‑centre or phone‑based customer‑service experience, handling a high volume of calls (40+ per day).
- Personal flexibility to work shift work, including weekends, and a hybrid schedule (one day in office per week).
- Ability to build rapport and maintain client relationships, preferably in the financial or service industry, while working independently and as part of a team.
- Exceptional client‑service capability and confidence in engaging clients across multiple channels (phone, video, etc.) with a friendly, positive and professional tone.
- Digital literacy across a broad range of devices (smartphones, tablets, laptops, etc.) with above‑average keyboarding skills, internet and computer navigation, and strong multitasking ability.
- Interest in mobile and digital devices with the ability to help clients navigate self‑serve applications.
- Desire to build exceptional client experiences and to be passionate and curious about helping clients meet their immediate needs and solve concerns.
- Solid time‑management, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
Pay range: $24.00 – $25.00 /hr
