Intermediate Construction Surveyor
Location: Various construction sites throughout Canada (including remote locations)
OverviewWe are seeking an Intermediate Construction Surveyor to join our growing team providing environmental and construction support services across Canada. This role offers exposure to diverse construction projects, mentorship, and the latest surveying equipment and software. The ideal candidate thrives in both team and independent settings and is motivated by hands‑on fieldwork and technical excellence.
Responsibilities- Plan, coordinate, and execute construction survey and drafting for heavy civil construction projects
- Conduct and oversee surveys to facilitate construction, including modeling and layout of critical structures, and complete as‑built surveys
- Analyze survey data and perform quantity calculations for progress claims
- Maintain accurate survey records and related documentation
- Perform drafting for pre‑construction planning, interim, and close‑out documentation
- Acquire, manage, and maintain survey instruments and related assets
- Follow all safety policies, procedures, and quality management standards
- Contribute to team success while maintaining a high standard of safety and quality
- Associate degree or college diploma in a related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a surveyor
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
- Knowledge of applicable Health & Safety legislation
- Experience operating DGPS (Trimble R12 or equivalent), Total Station (SX10 or equivalent), and Drone (Phantom 4 Pro or equivalent)
- Strong computer skills; proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD Civil 3D, or equivalent engineering‑based drafting software
- Self‑starter with a strong work ethic and the ability to lead a team or work independently
- Physically fit, able to work outdoors in varying weather, and carry up to 20kg of equipment regularly
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean abstract
- The successful candidate must currently reside in Canada and be eligible to work in Canada
