What we offer

Reporting to the Contacts Manager, the Purchasing Specialist provides support to our procurement process including tendering, contract management, estimatingandcost analysis. They’ll be responsible forpurchasing serviceswhile adhering to generally accepted home building principles&Mattamy standardsand working to provide The Best Homeowner Experience.

What you’ll do

  • Responsible for information and dataentry into

    Build

    Proand JD Edwards(JDE) systems, and act as a gatekeeper to ensure consistency, accuracy, andcompliance.
  • Coordination of tender process including documentation, pricing and follow ups for incomplete submissions.
  • Manage Trade Portal Website to ensure proper access to documents and coherent record keeping.
  • Review drawings for consistency betweenarchitecture, sales & marketing informationand verify conformancewith JDE requirements.
  • Assist inArchitectural Choice Options (ACO)& Site/Lot Specific cost build ups.
  • Support the Design Studiowithupdating, maintaining, and sourcing new products.
  • Maintain and update the Design Center Option Master database inJDEas needed.
  • Assistwith managing lumber takeoffs.
  • Utilize Building Information Modeling (BIM) technologyalong withworking or design drawingsto prepare accurate quantity take-offs and support estimating processesfor budgets and tenders.
  • Assistwith theanalysis of cost comparison and differences in products and services.
  • Support the Change Order process by soliciting updated pricingandmanageapplicable Purchase Orders (POs) in JDE.
  • Assist in resolving trade and/or builderconcerns and provideclaritytosites related to upgrades, options sold and scopes of work.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with subcontractors, constructionteammembersand supervisors.
  • Participate in site visits to verify trade performance and revise take-offs based on actual site conditions.
  • Ensure suppliers receive current scopes,architecturaldrawingsand required documents, and provide forecasting to manufacturers and trades as needed.
  • Release

    POsin alignment withconstruction schedules.
  • Conduct new trade orientations includingpreparingslidedecks prior to onsite work.
  • Assist in reviewing project budgetsandpreparing features and finish lists(schedule A’s) for each community.
  • What you bring

  • College Diplomain Architecturalor Civil Technology ora University degree in Civil, Mechanical or Materials Engineering.
  • 1-3 years of progressive experiencein a related role.
  • Stronganalytical andmathematical aptitudewith an understanding of budget, tender,and construction processes.
  • Self-motivatedwith the ability toprioritizetasksand work independently withminimalsupervision.
  • Critical thinker with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient inMS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and theability tocreatebudgettemplates andpreparereports.
  • Excellent communication skillsbothverbal and written.
  • Strongorganizational,time managementandproblem solvingskills.
  • Willingnessto learn and grow professionally.
  • Bonus points

  • Experience usingsoftware such asJD Edwards, Bluebeam,AutoCAD, Power Bi, MS Fabric.
