This early‑career Project Manager opportunity provides hands‑on experience supporting the delivery of critical networking solutions in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment while developing foundational project management capabilities.
How you will make an impact:

• Assist senior project managers with planning, executing, and closing projects spanning network deployments, product introductions, and internal initiatives

• Maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets under guidance from experienced team members

• Track progress, anticipate potential risks, and contribute ideas for mitigation

• Facilitate collaboration across engineering, sales, operations, and external vendors

• Prepare clear, concise project status updates for internal teams and, at times, customers

• Support development of statements of work, change orders, and post‑project reviews

• Apply Ciena project management tools and contribute to continuous improvement within the project management office
The must haves:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline

• 0–2 years of experience in a project‑oriented role, internship, or academic project environment (+)

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

• Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point

• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams

• Foundational understanding of telecommunications or networking concepts
Nice to haves:

• Knowledge of optical networking, data transmission, or related telecom technologies

• Experience with project coordination or project tracking tools

• Exposure to cross‑functional team environments

• Familiarity with process improvement or documentation development

• Interest in pursuing CAPM or PMP certification
Pay Range:

• The annual pay range for this position is $51,600 – $82,400.

Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.

Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
