Compensation Details- Econ & Political Analysis 15:
Salaries typically range from $65,172 to $86,898 annually, based on qualifications and experiences, plus a performance-based incentive. - Econ & Political Analysis 16:
Salaries typically range from $74,297 to $99,063 annually, based on qualifications and experiences, plus a performance-based incentive. - Econ & Political Analysis 17:
Salaries typically range from $84,698 to $112,931 annually, based on qualifications and experiences, plus a performance-based incentive.
- Export Development Canada operates in a hybrid work environment, currently requiring employees to work in the office 2 days per week. (subject to change)
- This role can be performed from EDC’s headquarters in Ottawa or from one of our Community Hubs located in Toronto, Mississauga, Montreal, Brossard, or Laval.
- Relocation assistance is available for candidates who meet the eligibility criteria.

Join Canada’s leading country and sector intelligence team, where your insights will help shape decisions for EDC and Canadian exporters. CSI’s work informs financial solutions, supports Canadian businesses, and drives innovation in market intelligence. You’ll collaborate with experts, engage with industry leaders, and make a real impact on Canada’s global trade.
What You Will Be Doing- Own a portfolio of sectors (to be determined) and develop sector outlooks.
- Analyze trends in Canadian trade, macroeconomics, and major industries.
- Communicate your findings in engaging ways—through reports, presentations, webinars, and more.
- Work closely with EDC business teams and external clients to assess economic and political impacts.
- Support the production of CSI’s flagship products (e.g., Sectors in Focus, Global Export Forecast, Country Risk Quarterly).
- Contribute to sector risk assessments for EDC financial transactions.
- Build and maintain a network of industry contacts.
- Monitor and report on political, economic, and business conditions in assigned sectors.
- Analyze and forecast sector trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Present complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Collaborate with analysts across the Economics group.
- Conduct sector risk assessments and prepare forecasts for financial transactions.
- Support research and develop new outlets for sector intelligence.
- Senior Associate Level 15/16:
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in economics or related field. - Analyst Level 17:
