Express has partnered with Quick Start Autism, a Kanata-based charitable organization, to recruit an organized and enthusiastic Administrative Assistant to join their close-knit team. Quick Start Autism is dedicated to helping children reach their full potential by enabling access to early intervention at the earliest signs of autism. The organization focuses on raising awareness, developing programs to reduce wait times, strengthening community capacity, and advocating for progress in early identification and intervention.
Key Responsibilities (may include, but are not limited to):- Assist with the planning and execution of annual fundraising initiatives, including the golf tournament, gala dinner, and online auction
- Create, update, and maintain shared spreadsheets and documentation
- Draft and respond to emails with vendors, clients, and colleagues in a professional, accurate, confidential, and sensitive manner
- Proofread all communications to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency prior to distribution
- Act as a liaison and primary point of contact for Quick Start Autism’s programs
- Work collaboratively in a shared environment, including maintaining and updating documents through Share Point
- Partner with team members to streamline administrative processes and improve overall efficiency
- Make and receive phone calls
- Provide general administrative support across the organization to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the CEO
- Minimum of three years of administrative experience, preferably within a small to mid-sized organization
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to proofread and edit documents effectively
- Exceptional attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
- Resourceful, proactive, and comfortable taking initiative
- Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to manage changing priorities
- Compassionate, empathetic, and committed to maintaining confidentiality
- Team-oriented with a collaborative and supportive approach
- Experience with Share Point
- Strong working knowledge of the MS Office Suite
- Experience with Mac-based software
- Familiarity with Canva, Mailchimp, and social media platforms (Facebook and Linked In)
- Personal knowledge of autism
