Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented below is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.

We’re looking for several Underwriting Assistants to join our Specialty Lines Conversion team.
As an Underwriting Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the underwriting function by processing transactions in insurance business accounts with numerous data entry and policy conversion duties. You may also have the opportunity to work on key company initiatives and projects as it relates to the business.
This position will provide full training for the role, and offers an excellent opportunity to learn a multi-system approach to Specialty Lines Underwriting.
What you’ll do here:
Input data on the policy management system and collect / cross-reference information using various computer-based software programs
Communicate with other related departments to seek and / or validate insurance policy information
As part of a systems conversion process, assess policy data to identify & resolve any discrepancies between existing underwriting data and the new system requirements
Support the Speciality Lines Underwriting teams on various assignments which may include systems testing, performing specialized system functions, tracking, reporting of data, and other tasks as required
Maintain accountability, efficiency, and quality standards on tasks assigned
Perform other support / administrative tasks as required
What you bring to the table:
Post-Secondary education preferred
Minimum one year experience in insurance preferred but not required
Knowledge and experience using Google Chrome and MS Office Suite and you are comfortable learning and navigating multiple systems
Expert data entry skills and high attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Organizational and time-management skills to meet service levels and productivity targets
Ability to work in a virtual team setting environment under self-direction
Willingness to learn and think outside the box
Bilingualism (French / English) – Need to interact on a regular basis with colleagues across the country
For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country
