The OpportunityThe General Accountant is responsible for providing full‑cycle general accounting for Appletree Medical Group and its subsidiaries.
Compensation:
Commensurate based on education and experience.

Financial Analyst
- Provide full‑cycle general accounting for the company and its subsidiaries.
- Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and year‑end processes including coordination with other accountants and internal business units, preparation of working papers, analysis of financial statement line items, and investigation of variances between actuals and budget.
- Provide accurate, timely, and complete accounting entries for balance sheet and income statement items in accordance with ASPE and corporate accounting policies.
- Support in the recording and reconciling of bank transactions.
- Maintain the processes and controls related to the safeguarding of assets.
- Reconcile accounting data to external sources.
- Audit supporting documents to substantiate financial transactions.
- Support the ongoing development of internal controls and implementation of financial best practices.
- Assist the ongoing development and implementation of accounting modules within the company’s financial system.
- Maintain compliance to all relevant regulatory bodies.
- Provide ad‑hoc financial analysis and accounting of transactions.
- Act as a success partner for new colleagues, answer questions and provide support.
- Be an ambassador for Appletree Medical Group; promote missions and values and motivate staff.
- Spearhead new initiatives (approved and assigned by direct manager). Contribute ideas and suggestions, based on prior experience and job knowledge. Liaise with other departments as appropriate.
- Assist with the coverage of duties within the Finance department as vacancies occur based on business needs.
- Other duties, as assigned.
- Minimum of two years of experience with general ledger accounting and/or full‑cycle bookkeeping.
- University degree or college certificate/diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA or working toward CPA designation is considered an asset.
- Excellent communication skills in English (spoken, written, reading, and comprehension); other languages are considered an asset.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Technical knowledge of MS Office Suite, and experience working with complex financial systems.
- Experience with Multiview is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, bookkeeping best practices.
- Adept at identifying and solving problems; solution oriented.
