The RoleWe are looking for a highly organized, tech savvy and detail-oriented Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our team. This mid-level position is ideal for someone eager to advance their accounting career and grow with the company
You will support the CFO in maintaining and improving our accounting operations. You’ll ensure financial records are accurate, up-to-date, and compliant, while managing the essential tasks that keep our finances on track. We are looking for someone who thrives on precision, enjoys problem-solving, and takes pride in seeing the numbers add up.
What You’ll Do:- Keep our books accurate: Enter financial transactions into Quick Books Online with precision.
- Manage invoices: Process bills and prepare payments (A/P), and create and send customer invoices while keeping track of incoming payments (A/R).
- Reconcile accounts: Review bank and credit card statements and resolve any discrepancies.
- Handle expenses: Review employee expense reports and ensure everything follows company policy.
- Prepare reports: Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to help guide business decisions.
- Payroll support: Review timesheets, process payroll, reconcile benefits, and prepare year-end reports.
- General support: Assist with filing, scanning, and keeping financial records organized.
- Software expertise: Maintain and enhance knowledge of Quick Books Online to ensure optimal use of its features.
- 2-3+ years of experience in a similar role.
- A genuine feel for numbers and basic understanding of accounting principles.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
- Experienced with Quick Books Online and Excel.
- Knowledgeable in payroll, A/P, A/R, and reconciliations.
- Knowledge of full-cycle bookkeeping.
- Integrity and the ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
- Willing to learn Builder Trend software.
- A team player who enjoys contributing to a collaborative environment.
- Associate’s degree or coursework in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Knowledge of payroll regulations and tax requirements is an asset.
- Small company experience is an asset.
- Initially part‑time 2 days/week in office and as the business grows could lead to additional days or full‑time employment.
