Property Accountant
Reporting to a Property Accounting Supervisor and working within a dynamic team, the Property Accountant is responsible for planning and implementing all financial accounting aspects related to a designated property portfolio to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of institutional level financial statements for assigned properties.
Responsibilities- Preparation of institutional level financial statements for assigned properties on a monthly, quarterly and/or annual basis for distribution to the respective owners.
- Ensure that the financial statements are prepared in accordance with generally accepted accounting practices and are in accordance with the requirements of the respective Owners.
- Work with the Core Team of any one property, and the Owner(s), to provide assurance, and assist with the interpretation of the financial aspects of the property’s operations.
- Coordinating with the Core Team, the annual operating budgets for each of the respective properties in consultation with other departments, owners, and asset managers.
- Preparing the year end working files for the annual audits.
- Ensuring the accuracy of monthly tenant charges.
- Calculation of CAM & Tax recoveries on a monthly and annual basis.
- Monitoring individual portfolio related Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
- Property cashflow management
- Preparing, and submitting HST returns where applicable.
- Other duties as reasonably required.

Qualifications- 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience, Property Accounting experience preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in an MSOffice 365 environment.
- Fluently bilingual (French & English) is preferred.
- Experience using Yardi 7s Property Management software is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of the assigned portfolio with the support of a strong team.
- Strong critical thinking, analytical and communication skills with a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Expected base salary: $60,000 - $75,000
