Position: Logistics Coordinator 1

Shift: M-F 8am to 4pm M-F ($22 - $27/Hour) Company Overview:

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for setting up freight and coordinating deliveries with carriers, ensuring that product is available for shipment by communicating with customer service, and ensuring that trucks are on time.

Essential Functions:

This position is responsible for the following tasks, duties and responsibilities:

  • Set-up freight. Set up truck to ship by customer-required dock dates.
  • Call and schedule freight based on contracted lanes
  • Assist in receiving/loading/unloading of product
  • Build trucks for best economic sense for T.O. Plastics.
  • Communicate shipping instruction to dock personnel- changes to shipping order etc. Communicate to customer service and other internal customers as needed.
  • Schedule dock appointments for incoming shipments
  • Prepare and coordinate shipments to and from outsource vendors
  • Coordinate and complete inventory transfers for all shipments of product going to or from Otsego facility
  • Create packing lists and bill of lading for outbound materials shipments
  • Maintain a clean working environment and remain organized
  • Other duties as assigned by Warehouse & Logistics Manager
Education, Experience and

Skills Required:
  • High School or GED
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office software applications.
  • Ability to work with different applications on different formats
  • Read and write
  • Familiar with PC application
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Excellent understanding of freight and cost
  • Experience in putting loads together and utilizing cost
  • Ability to communicate both verbally, written in a professional manner. This position requires the individual to be flexible and work one-on-one with sales personnel that may be on-site with customers, so good people skills is desired.
  • Basic math skills needed
  • This position requires a great deal of communication between QC and sales and truck line companies. Understanding of the company’s needs and maintaining a positive attitude while filling potential or existing customer needs
