Responsibilities- Wastewater (Lagoon and Land Application Site)
- Monitor & support transmission, storage and discharge.
- Ensure adequate start‑up and daily operation.
- Ensure proper continuous operation of irrigation system and testing requirements.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on pumps, piping, valves, and electrical equipment.
- Monitor lagoon levels and keep within safety parameters.
- Maintain varmint and rodent control.
- Maintain weed control and mowing of CRP grass.
- Maintain and repair main transmission pipeline.
- Shutdown Land Application System at end of irrigation season.
- Solid Waste (Soil Waste Land Application Site)
- Load, transport, screen and spread soil waste.
- Separate rocks, FM, and potato residual from soil waste.
- Ensure spread and incorporation.
- Cover‑crop by seeding incorporated material.
- Operate equipment under pesticide license.
- Maintain farm equipment used for incorporation.
- Control stockpiled materials to prevent odors and dust.
- Mud settling: operate separation of mud silt from receiving waters.
- Mud Settling
- Operate and monitor separation system.
- Communicate with receiving supervisor.
- Decant receiving water from mud silt every 24 hrs.
- Assist in shutdown of sediment basins during plant downtime.
- Assist in transportation and storage of mud silt.
- Plant Outside Grounds
- Assist in removal of snow and application of ice melt.
- Assist maintenance and field departments with equipment loading and removal.
- Control noxious weeds around plant grounds.
- Grade and level gravel areas.
- Clean and remove debris along fence lines.
- Communication
- Report to Environmental Engineering Supervisor.
- Ensure sample wastewater for permit requirements.
- Monitor and record volumes and locations of wastewater application.
- Ensure sample soil waste for permits.
- Assist contractors on maintenance, repairs and projects.
- High school diploma or GED; or three years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certified McCain forklift operator license.
- Supply of Lock Out/Tag Out identification cards and locks.
- CDL “Washington State Commercial Driver’s License” – Minimum Class B, Class A preferred.
- Washington State Driver’s License.
- Washington State Private Commercial Pesticide Applicators License or ability to obtain one.
