HGV Class 1 Driver

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety and efficiency while delivering goods to various locations. As a HGV Driver, you will be responsible for operating a HGV on a Class 1 License, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries while adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies.

• Safely operate a HGV for the delivery of goods to designated locations.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe working condition.
• Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper securing of items for transport.
• Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation as required by company policies.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving, promoting safety on the road.
• Report any vehicle maintenance needs or safety concerns promptly.

• Available to work day shifts. The odd night out will be required.
• Valid and clean commercial driving licence for HGV CLASS
  1. Valid CPC and Tacho Cards.
• Minimum 2 years HGV driving experience (For insurance purposes).
• Minimum 25 years old (For insurance purposes).
• Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar commercial driving role.
• Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices in transportation.
• Ability to lift heavy items and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading cargo.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently.
• Good communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
• A commitment to maintaining high standards of professionalism and customer service.

• Day shifts, flexible start and finish times required
• Overtime available
• £25 per night out
• £16 per hour, to be discussed at interview
