Clow Valve Company is a manufacturer of water works valves and fire hydrants. This role is with Clow Valve's Metal Casting Facility in Oskaloosa, IA. The company is part of McWane Incorporated and has a history of operations involving the Iowa Valve Company and The Eddy Valve Company.

Job Description3rd Shift Position: 9:30pm-6:00am
Starting Rate: $26.86;
Qualified Rate: $28.70; $1.20 shift differential for 3rd shift
$1500 sign on bonus after 120 day probationary period
Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To- Repairing, maintaining, installing, lubricating, troubleshooting and adjusting machines and equipment.
- Performing routine inspection on Metal Casting Facility equipment.
- Perform routine lubrication and cleaning of Metal Casting Facility equipment.
- Perform minor repairs on hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment and machines.
- Use of common hardware including: bolts, pipe fittings, etc.
- Preventative maintenance of Metal Casting Facility equipment and machinery.
- Operate fork trucks, lifts, and conveyors.
- Welding and minor fabrications.
- General clean up of area
- Lifting/carrying of less than 50 pounds.
- Frequent bending, pushing, pulling, reaching & twisting up to 90 times per hour.
- Standing & walking 8 to 10 hours per day.
- Ability to move neck forward/back & turn right/left, kneel, squat, & climb using arms and legs.
- Repetitive use of both hands & fingers to grasp, flex, extend, exert force, wear gloves, & utilize tools.
- Frequent work in extreme temperature conditions inside & outside including but not limited to working on slippery, uneven, unstable surfaces.
- Ability to work with hands in water, around machinery, at unprotected heights, with dust & fumes & operate a crane, truck, forklift & other moving vehicles.
- Applicant must have 2-4 years verifiable maintenance mechanic experience, preferably in an industrial/manufacturing setting.
- Tech degree is a strong plus.
- Ability to wear applicable PPE including: safety glasses, metatarsal guarded boots, hearing protection, respirators, welding mask, etc.
- Ability to recognize and utilize all basic and portable power tools and hand tools safely and effectively.
