Clow Valve -Pattern Shop Utility

Overview

We are a leading manufacturer of water valves and fire hydrants. We are a division of McWane Corporation with sister companies in the US and Canada. The Iowa Valve Company was established in Oskaloosa in 1909 by W W Corey and Herman W Read to build hydrants and valves. The original location of “THE VALVE” is the current Machine Shop location on South Second St.

The original buildings are still part of that facility. The Eddy Valve Company was founded in 1849 by George Eddy in Waterford New York. In 1878 Clow was formed in Chicago as a jobber of wrought iron pipe and other foundry products. The company was then known as James B Clow and Sons. Clow acquired Eddy Valve in 1945 and Iowa Valve in 1947.

These were operated separately at their original locations until 1970 when they were merged in Oskaloosa under Clow Corporation, Valve Division.

Clow Valve has an opening for a Pattern Shop Utility

1st Shift Position: 5am- 3:30pm

Starting Wage: $25.96;
Qualified Wage: $26.86

• Retrieving pattern from shop
• Transporting pattern to the KW machine
• Lock out/Tag out of machines
• Cleaning Patterns with compressed air
• Using impact wrench, mallets, breaker bars, pry bars, hoists, grinders
• Securing pattern and rails
• Repairing patterns
• General housekeeping
• Other duties as assigned

• Heavy lifting greater than 40-50lbs
• Light lifting/carrying 0-10 pounds
• Overhead or above shoulder reaching required
• Bending below to put bar stock into bin
• Push/pull maximum weight required, pounds unwheeled & wheeled
• Twisting torso at waist
• Maximum standing required (8 hours/day)
• Climb using arms and legs
• Use of fingers and both hands required
• Ability required to work in extreme temperatures
