Summary of Position:
Under the supervision of the Unit Manager/ADON/DON, the RN is responsible for a group of residents/patients during a shift. Nursing care includes assessment, implementation, and evaluation of the care plan. The RN ensures standards of care are met, manages the environment for resident/patient safety, and supervises nursing assistants and helpers. Adheres to North Shore’s policies and procedures and follows all applicable laws and standards, including JCAHO where applicable.
Requirements:
- Licensed in the State as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Current CPR certification
- Ability to operate necessary supplies and equipment (feeding pumps, oxygen, treatment trays, medication cart, etc.)
- Ability to calculate drug dosages
- Meet all health requirements mandated by law
- Positive, effective communication with residents, families, community members, volunteers, and staff
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Basic computer skills with aptitude to learn company applications
- Experience in a fast-paced environment
- Previous post-acute care experience preferred
