Summary of Position:

Under the supervision of the Unit Manager/ADON/DON, the RN is responsible for a group of residents/patients during a shift. Nursing care includes assessment, implementation, and evaluation of the care plan. The RN ensures standards of care are met, manages the environment for resident/patient safety, and supervises nursing assistants and helpers. Adheres to North Shore’s policies and procedures and follows all applicable laws and standards, including JCAHO where applicable.

Requirements:

  • Licensed in the State as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Current CPR certification
  • Ability to operate necessary supplies and equipment (feeding pumps, oxygen, treatment trays, medication cart, etc.)
  • Ability to calculate drug dosages
  • Meet all health requirements mandated by law
  • Positive, effective communication with residents, families, community members, volunteers, and staff
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Basic computer skills with aptitude to learn company applications
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous post-acute care experience preferred
