Position Summary

The Institution Unit Supervisor is responsible for the security, general living conditions and activities of all residents/persons in our care assigned to live and/or participate in programs on the housing unit(s) at Oshkosh Correctional Institution (OSCI). This position coordinates multiple discipline areas and provides supervision and direction to assigned unit staff, facilitates and evaluates unit-based work assignments, manages and directs resident conduct.

This position also manages the daily unit-based services provided to residents, and monitors and maintains the physical plant. Included in the major goals of this position are the administration of treatment programs; technical supervision, direction, and instruction of social workers and/or treatment staff for programs; maintaining and updating clinical and administrative procedures; developing appropriate program components; and performing public relations duties.

Salary

Information

This position is in pay schedule and range 81-34 with a starting pay of $48.33/hour - $55.99/hour
. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. A probationary period is required.

Job Details

This position is not eligible for remote work and will work on site. Anticipated schedule will be Monday – Friday 7:45 AM – 4:30 PM. This position is anticipated to share the on-call responsibilities of the Administrative Duty Officer, which will occasionally involve work on nights, weekends, and holidays. This position is FLSA Exempt. This position is not anticipated to travel on a regular basis, but most DOC positions occasionally travel for training, meetings, conferences, or similar events.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application. The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen pass the screen as a contingency of employment. The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection.

Qualifications

Minimally qualified applicants will have experience in the following:
