Position SummaryThis position directs the library program of the Oshkosh Correctional Institution (OSCI). It is responsible for the operation of the institution library, media center, and law library. The role includes providing library services to residents and staff, developing and maintaining collections, providing reference and information services, and offering miscellaneous programs to residents and staff.
Salary InformationThis position is in pay schedule and range 13‑04 with a starting pay of $27.50/hour to $35.06/hour
. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. A probationary period is required.

This position is not eligible for remote work and will work on site. Anticipated schedule will be Tuesday – Friday 12:30 PM – 9:15 PM and Saturday 7:45 AM – 4:30 PM. The position is FLSA Exempt. The position is not anticipated to travel on a regular basis, but occasional travel for training, meetings, conferences, or similar events may be required.
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (e.g., U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident) at the time of application. The Department of Corrections may conduct pre‑employment drug screens and criminal background checks, requiring fingerprinting upon hire.
Qualifications- Experience performing librarian duties (maintaining library collection, classifying and cataloging library materials, developing a collection, etc.).
- Experience using computer technology and programs, including library catalogs.
- Experience providing information to employees or customers.
