SummaryThe Workshop Manager is responsible for leading the workshop courses during the camp program.
Roles And Responsibilities- Execute preplanned workshop projects with campers
- Work with campers with a variety of learning styles and different levels of skill and ability
- Conduct pre-camp staff training on workshop tools and equipment
- Oversee the maintenance and organization of workshop tools and equipment
- Monitor safety and all procedures as they pertain to the complete supervision of all campers and staff.
- Help provide an atmosphere for developing good morale and wellbeing among the camp family.
- Embraces and supports the EAA mission and performs safe practices in the workplace and aviation environment.
- All other duties as assigned.
- 2-3 years camp leadership (i.e., unit leader, head counselor) or teaching experience
- Experience working with sheet metal, composites, and woodworking.
- Current CPR and first aid certifications
- Pass a rigorous personal background check.
Typical camp or classroom environment. Possibility of extended hours, which may encompass early mornings and late evenings, exceeding 40 hours per week. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
Preparation for Air Venture or other events may require lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally, standing and walking for extended periods of time while bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, and push and pull motions.
