As a Program Manager supporting the Global Procurement and Supply Chain function at Oshkosh Defense, you will lead cross‑functional initiatives focused on cost optimization, supplier strategy, and operational efficiency across the enterprise. This role partners closely with Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, Finance, and Operations to drive strategic cost‑saving initiatives, strengthen supplier performance, and enhance long‑term supply chain resilience.

You will oversee high‑impact programs from strategy development through execution, ensuring alignment with business objectives, financial targets, governance standards, and continuous improvement priorities.

Your Impact

Strategic Supply Chain Program Leadership
  • Lead segment or enterprise‑wide supply chain initiatives focused on cost reduction, value engineering, supplier optimization, and total cost of ownership (TCO) improvement.
  • Develop and execute integrated program plans including cost models, milestone schedules, KPIs, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Partner with Strategic Sourcing, Category Management, and Supplier Development teams to identify and implement sustainable cost savings across direct and indirect spend categories.
  • Drive initiatives such as should‑cost modeling, supplier consolidation, dual sourcing strategies, make vs. buy analysis, and supply base rationalization.
  • Support long‑range supply chain strategy development aligned to enterprise growth, margin expansion, and operational performance objectives.
Cost Optimization & Financial Performance
  • Identify cost drivers across the supply chain and lead cross‑functional teams to implement margin‑enhancing solutions.
  • Track and report realized savings, cost avoidance, and value capture metrics to executive leadership.
  • Partner with Finance to ensure savings initiatives are accurately forecasted, validated, and sustained.
  • Monitor program financial health and proactively address risks impacting cost, supply continuity, or performance.
Supplier & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Serve as a strategic liaison between Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, and key supplier partners.
  • Lead supplier‑facing initiatives focused on cost reduction, performance improvement, contract optimization, and long‑term strategic partnerships.
  • Support negotiations and supplier strategy development through data‑driven insights and risk analysis.
Risk Management, Governance & Compliance
  • Lead supply chain risk assessments related to cost volatility, supplier concentration, geopolitical exposure, and continuity of supply.
  • Ensure initiatives align with regulatory, contractual, and corporate governance requirements (FAR/DFARS, ITAR, etc., as applicable).
Continuous Improvement & Enterprise Impact
  • Champion a culture of cost discipline, operational excellence, and data‑driven decision‑making within the Supply Chain organization.
  • Support digital transformation initiatives including supply chain analytics, cost modeling tools, and process automation.
  • Contribute to development of standardized program management practices within the Strategic Supply Chain function.
  • Drive cross‑business collaboration to strengthen enterprise competitiveness and long‑term supply chain resilience.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and eight (8) or more years of relevant experience (equivalent to fourteen (14) years total in education and experience); or an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the role.
