Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room experienceFirst-Time Travelers:

Pediatric to Geriatric (predominantly geriatric)
Common presentations include chest pain, abdominal pain, falls, and general emergency care
ED RN: 1:3–4 (Days & Nights)
BLS
ACLS
PALS
NIHSS
TNCC
CPI/MOAB
ENPC
Comprehensive ED skillset, including:
Peripheral IV starts
Blood cultures (proper technique required)
Chest tube management
Code Blue participation
Triage experience
Arterial lines
Critical care experience
Central line placement
Thoracentesis
Charge nurse experience
Pediatric experience strongly preferred
Charge Nurse (may occasionally take patients)
2 ED Techs covering the unit
1 Health Unit Coordinator (HUC)
Paramedic coverage during mid-shift only
Phlebotomy available for difficult/time-sensitive draws
Primary RN performs routine draws
Phlebotomy handles inpatient hold draws
Hospitalist coverage 24/7
Mid-level providers on-site from 0800–2400
Respiratory Therapy coverage 24/7
Bedside and nurses’ station telemetry monitoring
Telemetry technician support for ER holds only
Unit Secretary coverage 24/7
Charting System: EPIC (required)
Alaris IV pumps
Pyxis medication dispensing
Belmont Rapid Infuser (ED RN use preferred)
Minimum of one orientation shift to learn unit flow
