Early Child Edu Asst. This position works within the UW Oshkosh Head Start program, a federally funded preschool program for low-income families. It collaborators with full-time teachers and teacher assistants to support children s school readiness and assist with center responsibilities to maintain a safe and sanitary environment.
Head Start employees have the opportunity to work with 384 children and their families every school year. We have seven centers in five cities throughout Winnebago, Calumet, Outagamie, and Shawano Counties. Staff wellness is prioritized through available individual/group reflective practice, Practice Based Coaching, and wellness initiatives. Head Start supports staff to complete required coursework;
Child Development Associate (CDA) training and support is provided may lead to certification and possible advancement in our program.

Head Start has a hiring incentive:
New Hires, working 21 hours or more per week, will receive a $500.00 bonus after 90 days. New hires working 20 hours or less per week will receive a $250.00 bonus after 90 days.
- Maintains the safety and physical well-being of children at all times and in all environments
- Engages in collaborative partnership building with children, staff, and parents to identify goals, strengths, necessary services, and other support
- Assists with early childhood education related tasks
- Implements individualized and developmental educational plans for children

Substitute Teachers - $15.35 - $19.65 per hour
