- Available for 12‑hour shifts on Saturdays and Sundays, with flexibility for day, evening, and overnight shifts preferred.
- Commit to a consistent, ongoing weekly schedule for the foreseeable future.
- Willing to see multiple clients throughout the day.
- Provide personal care to clients as outlined in their care plans.
- Provide companionship and light housekeeping to help clients stay at home.
- Prepare meals in accordance with client or family requests, open to preparing different kinds of cuisine.
- Assist clients with all activities of daily living (ADLs) within scope of practice for a Personal Support Worker.
- Assist clients with transfers, ambulation, and exercises.
- Meet safety needs of the client and use equipment safely and properly.
- Function within limits of own experience and knowledge, practicing safely and competently.
- Complete records and documentation accurately and thoroughly.
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable access to a car for daily work.
- Ability to travel between assignments within designated areas; travel to rural/remote areas is an asset.
- Effective verbal and written communication in English.
- PSW certification from an approved and recognised educational institution or international nursing/doctorate certification.
- Negative TB test completed within the last year.
- Valid CPR/First Aid certificate.
- Valid WHMIS
2015 certificate of completion. - COVID vaccination receipts, subject to exemption pursuant to Ontario’s Human Rights Code.
- Immunisation for measles, rubella, varicella, tetanus, and diphtheria required;
Hepatitis B immunisation strongly urged. - Valid Criminal Record Check completed within the last year.
- Ability to identify and report client care concerns to Care Coordinators when needed.
- Good judgement, ability to work independently, and work cooperatively with an interdisciplinary team.
- Current/Valid Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA) registration is an asset.
