Position: Project Coordinator Co-op (12 Months)
Location: BowmanvilleWhat is the Opportunity?
As part of an alliance agreement, Aecon has been awarded a contract in an Aecon-led partnership with Kiewit Nuclear Canada by Ontario Power Generation (OPG) for the execution phase on the Darlington New Nuclear Project (DNNP) in Clarington, Ontario. Beginning in 2025 Aecon will support the Construction of the Unit 1 Small Modular Reactor at the Darlington site.
The Project Coordinator Co-op will report to the Project Manager and will be responsible for planning all critical material movements. This role will require continuous communication with all project team members and will be responsible for identifying and implementing continuous improvements of material handling methods.
What You'll Do Here:
Assist in the development and maintenance of Comprehensive Work Package in cooperation with construction and engineering.Provide and ensure effectiveness of the liaison function between field trades and design engineers for problem resolution and information flow.Provides status and progress reports to customer, project team, and managementEstablish and maintain interfaces with other internal groups, subcontractors and suppliers supporting the project.Coordinates preparation and delivery of project deliverables, design documents, as built drawings, turnover documents, etc.Coordinates activities relating to technical developments, scheduling and resolving engineering design and test problemsActive involvement in quality assurance with regards to understating and implementing policies and procedures.Ensure construction activities follow approved policies, standards, and procedures.Monitor project schedule, budget, and quality standards.Develop material handling plans using 3D modeling tools.What You Bring to the Team:
Pursuing a Mechanical Engineering Degree is preferredMinimum GPA of 3.0Proficient written (report writing) communication skillsKnowledge of SharePoint applications an assetExcellent interpersonal, communication (both oral and written) skillsStrong Interpersonal skills in communicating with a large teamThrive on a fast-paced environmentNight shifts may be requiredWe strongly encourage applicants who identify as Indigenous to apply to work with us on the Darlington New Nuclear Project.
