This position is eligible for "Supplement Basic Shift Premium" for 24/7 Facilities. Employees who are assigned to a facility that provides direct care to residents, patients, and/or clients and whose duties are required to be performed on location will receive an additional one dollar ($1.00) per hour of supplemental basic shift premium for each hour of basic shift premium. This shift premium does not apply to overtime hours.
The supplemental basic shift premium shall expire on June 29, 2027.
Schedule:
Tuesday through Saturday, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm.
As a Nursing Assistant Certified, you''ll assist in the delivery of nursing and nursing-related care to Veterans in need of skilled nursing care and support residents with activities of daily living, based on current nursing standards of practice.

Responsibilities- Assist residents with positioning, transferring and ambulation; ensure a safe and secure work environment, including preventative infection control methods.
- Respond to call lights, internal and external emergencies, and facility codes.
- Record care, vital signs and observations.
- Assist residents with personal clothing, belongings and equipment; bathing, dressing, grooming, hygiene, etc.
- Assist with therapies and treatment under the direction of licensed personnel; motion exercises as needed.
- Accurately obtain and record vital signs and other resident data; document intake/output records.
- Perform basic nursing procedures such as applying anti-embolism stockings, applying creams or lotions, collecting specimens, etc.

QualificationsRequired Qualifications:- Current and valid Washington State Nursing Assistant Certification.
- Current active status on OBRA (Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act) check.
- Must have the ability to speak, read and write in English for medical charts.
- Ability to perform data entry.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Ability to provide a positive living environment for residents relating to meeting psychosocial needs; follow written and verbal directions; document and report observed changes in patient condition and behavior.
- High School graduation
- Six months of Nursing Assistant experience
- Equivalent education/experience.
- Accurate methods and practices to assist residents with activities of daily care, personal hygiene, sanitation methods, record keeping, reporting changes, infection control procedures and residents rights.
- Must be able to pass a DSHS BCCU Background Check every two (2) years in accordance with WDVA Policy 615.000 Background Checks.
- Must comply with annual Tuberculin Screening in accordance with DVA policy 670.000 Tuberculosis Testing.
- Requires medical evaluation, fit testing, training, and use of respiratory protection as required by safety standards. Must be able to wear respirator, gloves, gowns, eye protection, and other PPE as required.
- Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. and reach a minimum of 36"; capable of stock stocking and accessing supplies; able to push/pull, walk, sit, and bend as needed.
- Must maintain a valid practical nursing license and provide from the State of Washington Department of Health.
- Must maintain regular and reliable attendance and be willing to work as needed.
- Must complete mandatory orientation and all required training within mandated time frames.
- Must comply with DVA policies and procedures and applicable Collective Bargaining Agreements.
- Must sign the confidentiality statement for all employees.
- Positions requiring travel must have a valid unrestricted driver''s license and be insured if driving a privately owned vehicle on state business.
