ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

* Qualify suppliers by assessing and validating their quality management system, engineering capabilities, and their manufacturing, inspection and administrative processes, methods and equipment capabilities.

* Aid suppliers in defect resolution, and process improvement activities.

* Perform supplier capability assessments and initial visits.

* Track supplier performance in ERP and QMS systems.

* Collaborate with suppliers at all levels to create a strong long-term partnership.

* When necessary, develop quality performance improvement plans for suppliers.

* Manage MRB activities associated with assigned suppliers and work toward resolution of issues related to product/material non-conformances.

Other duties may be assigned.

REQUIRED COMPETENCY To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

Technical Skills. Solid understanding of manufacturing processes related to our product and processes. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

Process Improvement - Have the ability to evaluate and improve methods to enhance product and services both internal and external.

Negotiation - Skill to allow collaboration on finding a path forward by working with both the supplier and internal stakeholders.

Quality Management - Good understanding of quality tools such as PPAP, 1st article, FAI, ISO 9001, GD&T, GD&T, AS9100 process.

Problem Solving - 8D, Ishikawa, 5-Why's, root cause

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent technical degree; and/or minimum three years' experience in quality and/or process engineering in a manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Working knowledge of quality managements systems and processes audit techniques, inspection methods, statistics application, sheet metal fabrication, welding, machining and coating processes.

Demonstrated experience developing and troubleshooting manufacturing and administrative processes, failure root cause analysis and implementing sustainable, measurable improvements.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective oral and written communication skills.

Good interpersonal skills.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
