Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Clinical Fellow (ST5-7) to replace a current gap in service provision for twelve months. The remit of the post holder will be to work within the multi-disciplinary team providing and further developing care for women in Maternity & Gynaecology. In addition, the individual will be required to play an active role in the general workload of the department.
Mainduties of the job
- Together with the others to provide Maternity & gynaecology services for women attending Kings College Hospital. This includes all aspects of treatment and relevant management duties required for the proper functioning of the department.
- Shared responsibility with the others for providing 24 hour, 7 day a week cover for the obstetrics & gynaecology on an on-call rota basis. Responsible also for covering colleague s periods of annual leave and short-term sickness/absence.
- To contribute to departmental audit programme in accordance with the Trust s R&D framework.
- To be aware of, and comply with, all Trust infection prevention and control policies, to include hand hygiene, personal hygiene, environmental and food hygiene. To undertake annual training/updates in infection prevention and control.
- To prepare for and undertake the protective interventions that you are responsible for in a manner that is consistent with evidence based practice and maintaining patient safety.

- Together with the others to provide Maternity & gynaecology services for women attending Princess Royal University Hospital. This includes all aspects of treatment and relevant management duties required for the proper functioning of the department.
- Shared responsibility with colleagues for providing 24hour, 7 day a week cover for the obstetrics & gynaecology on an on-call rota basis. Responsibility for covering colleagues periods of annual leave and short-term sickness/absence, in line with departmental policy.
- Clinical supervision of other junior medical and non-medical staff.
- Responsible for carrying out teaching undergraduate student, contributing to Continuing Medical Education and clinical governance initiatives.
- To contribute to departmental research interests in accordance with the Trust s R&D framework.
- To contribute to the Clinical Audit Programme.
- To be aware of, and comply with, all Trust infection prevention and control policies, to include hand hygiene, personal hygiene, environmental and food hygiene. To undertake annual training/updates in infection prevention and control.
- Excellence within own department/area of responsibility.
- To prepare for and undertake the protective interventions that you are responsible for in a manner that is consistent with evidence-based practice and maintaining patient safety.
- You have a general duty of care for the health, safety and well-being of yourself, work colleagues, visitors and patients within the hospital in addition to any specific risk management or clinical governance accountabilities associated with this post.
- You are required to observe the rules, policies, procedures and standards of Kings College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust together with all relevant statutory and professional obligations.
