Job Summary

Provide high‑quality administrative and clerical support to the nursing and medical staff on the AMU inpatient wards and the SDEC department. Manage patient information, maintain data quality, assist with discharge planning, and deliver a professional front‑of‑house service.

Main Duties
  • Update and maintain accurate patient data, including demographics, in EPIC system and medical records.
  • Enter and retrieve data from all current Trust computer systems, ensuring adherence to data quality standards.
  • Ensure complete medical records are available for all admitted patients by uploading paper notes to EPIC and digitising documents.
  • Support clinical staff with smooth discharge of patients.
  • Provide full front‑of‑house service, welcoming patients and visitors, and following security and infection control measures.
  • Answer ward telephone enquiries promptly, resolve local issues or refer appropriately.
  • Coordinate transfer of patients to tertiary or continuing care settings, arranging transport and ensuring documentation.
Person Specification
  • Previous clerical/reception experience and effective liaison with all staff levels.
  • ECDL or equivalent MS Office, email, browsers; GCSE A‑C in Maths and English.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, good telephone manner.
  • Customer care experience, team player.
  • Experience in a ward or reception role (desirable).

3. Salary: £29,651 to £31,312 a year pro rata.

Permanent, Part‑time.
