Semi‑Senior - Cloud Accountant Purpose of the Role

Affinia is currently seeking a dynamic individual to join our Top 35 accountancy firm as a Semi‑Senior Cloud Accountant. This exciting opportunity offers a chance to make a real impact on the firm. You will work alongside our Digital Solutions and Cloud Accounting team to support their requirements and the wider business.

As a Semi‑Senior, the focus shifts from learning to doing: from basic bookkeeping tasks using Xero to managing financial records and preparing reports. With a few years of experience, you will work independently under the guidance of senior members of the team. Client‑facing, you will be a good listener and excellent communicator, handling most day‑to‑day client work independently while benefiting from senior support.

You will receive a structured training path to support your career progression at Affinia Ltd. We operate a hybrid working model, allowing time in the office, client sites, from home, or college visits for professional exams (where relevant). We offer training via Linked In Learning, Croner‑i, Mercia and Tolley’s to develop hard and soft skills. Your development plan will support your career goals and aspirations.

• Bookkeeping:
  Entering financial transactions into cloud‑based accounting software (e.g., Xero).
• Management Reporting:
  Preparing reports, such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash‑flow statements.
• Client Support:
  Communicating with clients, answering questions, and providing support.
• Troubleshooting:
  Identifying and resolving issues in the cloud accounting system.
• Data Analysis:
  Analysing financial data to identify trends and patterns.
• Learning and Development:
  Continuously learning and developing skills in cloud bookkeeping and related accounting software.
• Collaboration:
  
  Working collaboratively with other Service Lines within our group.
• Additional responsibilities as and when identified in association with expectations of the role.

• Ideally AAT qualified and having started/ready to start further studies.
• Solid bookkeeping/management account experience, ideally in a practice environment.
• Experience with cloud‑based accounting software.
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial statements.
• A degree is not essential but may be advantageous (e.g., Accounting, Finance, Business, Data Science).
• A‑levels (or equivalent) in Maths and/or English may be advantageous but are not essential.
• Minimum of 5 GCSEs (Level 5 and above), including Maths and English Language.
• Clear written and spoken communication skills.
• Strong IT skills, with experience of Microsoft Office products.
• Enjoy learning both formally and ‘on the job’.
