Position Summary
Saturday and Sundays 8:30am - 5pm
Pay Rate: $18.00
The Front Desk Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for residents, families, visitors, vendors, and staff. This role is responsible for maintaining a welcoming, safe, and organized front office while supporting daily operations of the assisted living and memory care community. The receptionist plays a key role in resident safety, communication, and customer service.
Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesFront Desk & Customer Service:
- Greet residents, families, visitors, and vendors in a warm, professional, and compassionate manner.
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls promptly and courteously.
- Monitor and maintain the visitor sign-in/out log per community policy.
- Ensure visitors comply with safety, infection control, and security procedures.
- Provide general information while maintaining resident confidentiality (HIPAA compliance).
Safety & Security:
- Monitor entrances and exits to ensure resident safety, particularly for memory care residents.
- Remain alert to elopement risks and follow community protocols immediately if concerns arise.
- Report unusual activity, emergencies, or safety concerns to leadership or on-duty staff.
- Maintain awareness of emergency procedures and assist as directed during drills or incidents.
Administrative Support:
- Maintain organized front desk, lobby, and reception areas.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, copying, scanning, and data entry.
- Distribute mail, packages, and messages to residents and staff.
- Support admissions, activities, and leadership teams as needed.
- Maintain office supplies and notify leadership of inventory needs.
Resident & Family Support:
- Interact respectfully and patiently with residents, including those with cognitive impairment.
- Respond to resident needs by contacting appropriate staff when assistance is required.
- Provide reassurance and calm communication during stressful or emotional situations.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience in assisted living, memory care, healthcare, or hospitality preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Basic computer skills (email, phone systems, data entry).
- Compassionate, patient, and customer-service oriented.
- Understanding of confidentiality and resident privacy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to interact positively with seniors and individuals with dementia.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds as needed.
- Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations.
This position works primarily at the front desk in an assisted living and memory care setting and involves frequent interaction with residents, families, visitors, and staff.
