Parker Meggitt (Securaplane) a recent addition to Parker Hannifin, is a global leader in the Commercial and Military Aerospace markets, specializing in a wide range of products including fire and smoke detection systems, extinguishing systems, bleed air overheat detection systems, actuators, rudder pedal assemblies, pumps, fuel gauging systems, and high‑temperature cables. Located in Oro Valley, AZ, this site is within the Fire Safety & Power Systems Division (FSPSD) and is a key supplier of camera systems, energy storage products, and security systems in aerospace markets.

We work directly with some of the largest aerospace companies in the world, including Airbus, Boeing, Gulfstream, Bombardier, Embraer, and Textron, among others.

The Systems Engineer Intern supports the Engineering Department in its execution of engineering design changes in a timely manner and supplement the systems engineering role in preventing or correcting quality defects, resolving production problems, managing requirements, executing requirements testing, and contributing to the development of products for aerospace applications.

• Systems Engineering support role for products including:
• Allocation of system requirements
• Allocation of system tests and evaluations
• Reliability analyses of articles and total systems
• Validate article and system test configurations
• Develop and validate test equipment and procedure requirements
• Perform hands‑on construction of article and system test equipment
• Participate with system of processes development for (FAA) requirement and regulation compliance
• Developing systems engineering reports and reliability analyses
• Drafting test plans and procedures
• On the job learning of Systems Engineering principles and Meggitt Tucson Processes
• Drafting of Engineering Changes at the direction of Engineers
• Employ knowledge and skills learned from school in day‑to‑day work
• Regular contact with Electrical Engineers, Laboratory Technicians, Electrical and Systems Engineers, and Quality Assurance team members at Meggitt Tucson’s facility
• Develop positive and professional working relationships to accomplish tasks
• Accountable to generate accurate documentation at the direction of Electrical Engineers, Airworthiness Personnel, Laboratory Technicians
• Accountable to maintain a perspective of constant learning
• Accountable to keep track of assignments and prioritize tasks at the discretion of the Engineering Manager
• Accountable to effectively manage work and school balance
• Accountable to participate in department improvement initiatives
• Maintain an acceptable attendance record. Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required.
