Position: Special Education Teacher 26/27

About the Position

BASIS Oro Valley Primary is seeking qualified candidates for a Special Education Teacher to join our team for the 2026/்க27 school year. The role involves working directly with students to identify and fulfill needed educational services as part of a student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP). The teacher participates in IEP meetings and provides support to general education teachers regarding classroom interventions, student accommodations, modifications, and special education requirements.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Valid Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card and/or satisfactory applicable state background check.
  • Current special education certificate valid in the relevant jurisdiction, CPR and First Aid.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in special education;
    Master’s degree in special education or related subject matter.
  • 1+ year of special education experienceツ
  • Certifications:

    CPI or TACT-2.

Job Responsibilities
  • Work with students with disabilities in small group or 1:1 settings.
  • Interact directly with assigned students to fulfill IEP requirements, including service minutes.
  • Provide instructional interventions and academic support to individual students or small groups.
  • Provide case management services: coordinate IEP team meetings, parent communication, program development, service provision, and implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal special education requirements.
  • Facilitate IEP meetings and collaborate with general education teachers to deliver a FAPE.
  • Collect and maintain documentation associated with IEP, ensuring confidentiality and record integrity.
  • Collect student data from classroom teachers and providers for upcoming IEP meetings; report progress on annual IEP goals and prepare data for regulatory purposes.
  • Develop a working knowledge of general education curriculum to adapt content appropriately for specially designed instruction.
  • May perform CPI or TACT-2 certified restraint or seclusion as a school designee.
  • Communicate and coordinate with related service providers to schedule student services and IEP meetings.
  • Oversee day‑to‑day tasks of the ESS Assistant(s) and/or Special Education Specialist.
  • Proctor individual or small group testing for state, district, or alternateая assessments.
  • Other duties as assigned.
