About WaythroughWaythrough was formed in 2024 following the merger of Humankind and Richmond Fellowship. Together, we’ve created one of the largest mental health and social support charities in England. Every year, we support around 125,000 people through nearly 200 services – and it’s all made possible by our 3,500 brilliant staff and volunteers.
About the roleWe are an outreach team working remotely and within the community (coffee shops, libraries, walks, etc., and occasionally home visits). We follow a recovery model and are accessed by referral for hospital preventations, step‑down, respite, and crisis point support.
As a Day Recovery Worker, you will liaise with clinical teams to discuss referrals and clinical presentation of people using our services and make referral decisions based on this.
You will support individuals who present in a range of ways – including low mood, depression, anxiety, mania, voice hearing, delusions, self‑harm, and suicidal thoughts – to develop their own coping strategies to deal with crisis situations. You will also participate in a group work programme to assist people using our services to deal with substance abuse, mental or physical illness, poverty, unemployment, or physical abuse.
You will attend home visits and virtual/phone calls with people accessing the service. Additionally, there could be a possibility to take on additional smaller groups if needed, to support the service.
