Job Description & How to Apply Below

Overview

Axcis Education is recruiting a 1-1 teaching assistant to work in a mainstream primary school in Ormskirk. The role is full time Monday to Friday 8.30‑3.30, with potential for a permanent position depending on the school’s needs. The position is temporary unless otherwise stated.

Responsibilities

Work 1‑1 with a male Year 4 student who has learning difficulties and some SEMH needs, working below age‑related expectations. Provide extra support to bring him up to speed, building a positive, trusting relationship. The role may also involve general TA work and small group work depending on the school’s needs.

The school is a larger than average mainstream provision in Ormskirk, rated as ‘good’ by its most recent OFSTED inspection. A car park is onsite and public transport links are good, with walking distance to the school.

Qualifications

Applicants must have previous experience working with children in some form. Experience ideally in a school setting but coaching, care or youth work with SEND is also acceptable. An enhanced DBS on the update service is required; if you do not have one, Axcis can help you apply for a new one.

You must be suitably qualified for the position advertised and be prepared to attend a face‑to‑face interview with Axcis to demonstrate your suitability for this role.

Salary / Pay Rate will be dependent on your skills and experience.
