Overview
Axcis Education is recruiting a 1-1 teaching assistant to work in a mainstream primary school in Ormskirk. The role is full time Monday to Friday 8.30‑3.30, with potential for a permanent position depending on the school’s needs. The position is temporary unless otherwise stated.
ResponsibilitiesWork 1‑1 with a male Year 4 student who has learning difficulties and some SEMH needs, working below age‑related expectations. Provide extra support to bring him up to speed, building a positive, trusting relationship. The role may also involve general TA work and small group work depending on the school’s needs.
The school is a larger than average mainstream provision in Ormskirk, rated as ‘good’ by its most recent OFSTED inspection. A car park is onsite and public transport links are good, with walking distance to the school.
QualificationsApplicants must have previous experience working with children in some form. Experience ideally in a school setting but coaching, care or youth work with SEND is also acceptable. An enhanced DBS on the update service is required; if you do not have one, Axcis can help you apply for a new one.
You must be suitably qualified for the position advertised and be prepared to attend a face‑to‑face interview with Axcis to demonstrate your suitability for this role.
Salary / Pay Rate will be dependent on your skills and experience.
