Transportation Coordinator, Transportation Logistics

DESCRIPTION OF JOB

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Retrieve all relevant flight information from Dispatch, including gate number, aircraft number, meal counts, and any special requirements.

• Coordinate all aspects of international flights provisioning, including:
• Verifying and overseeing proper packing and loading of catering items.
• Checking flight carts in the kitchen for accuracy and readiness.
• Ensuring proper placement of catering equipment on aircraft.
• Perform final hand-off of galley items to flight attendants.
• Communicate operational changes or special instructions to all relevant departments in a timely manner.
• Immediately report any issues (e.g., late trucks, meal shortages) to Dispatch.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Must be able to work in hot and/or cold environments.
• Must be able to walk, stoop, bend, climb, and stand for the duration of the work shift.
• Must have strong organizational skills and be adaptable to frequent operational changes.
• Must be able to pass a 10-year criminal background check to obtain an airport SIDA/AOA badge with Customs Seal clearance.
• Must comply with all Ramp, AOA, Safety, and Security rules and regulations.
• Must be able to push heavy loads (airline carts) and lift up to 30 lbs.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record.
• Must successfully complete both classroom and on-the-job driver training programs.
• Must demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills, along with a professional appearance and attitude.
• Must be able to understand, apply, and follow all safety standards.
• Must be able to operate catering carts, ramps, and other airline catering equipment.
• Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, mid-day, late evenings, weekends, and holidays. Schedules are subject to change due to shift bidding.
