JOB SUMMARY:

The Media and Real time TD will assist in Universals next generation character and media FX technology. Utilizing game engines like Unreal and Unity, the role will encompass using real time technology to generate the workflows and pipelines required to merge the digital and the physical. Using media servers, game engines, projection mapping, Maya and many other tools, the Media and Real Time TD will help with furthering our R&D in the next generation space.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Build Unreal rigs, characters and assets for high end real time playback.

* Utilizing blue prints and a basic understanding of scripting to custom build and rapid prototype reactive and interactive technology inside of Unreal Engine.

* Use external control systems such as DMX to control and operate external hardware via game engine

* Build and rig characters using existing and prototype character systems inside of Unreal

* Utilize and build work flows from Unreal to a variety of different media servers (disguise, 7th sense, X-Agora, etx)

* Help convert assets and rigs into real time ready characters

* Comfort in an R&D and fail fast and hard mindset

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

* In pursuit of a Bachelor, Senior standing, or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution.

* Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA is required.

* A transcript is required upon application.

PREFERRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

* Preferred majors include:
Creative Technology, Technical Animation, Real Tome Character Technology, or similar.

* Strong skillset and understand of Unreal

* Strong skillset and understanding of Maya and its rigging and characters systems

* Experience using live drive character interactives like Meta Human and subsequent toolsets inside of Unreal

* Experience using Unreal to rapid prototype and experiment with gameplay elements when needed

* Understanding of outward interfacing with systems like DMX through Unreal engine

* This internship will be an in-person experience, based in our Orlando offices.

* Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university, and must have a graduation date later than December 2026.

* Universal Orlando does not provide housing. Interns are responsible for their own housing and transportation.
