Performs specialized community support for the Orlando Police Department (OPD). Provides mobile crisis outreach to individuals with mental, behavioral, or substance use disorders. Primary duties include de-escalation and stabilization of those experiencing a mental health or substance crisis or unsheltered living. Work is performed under general supervision and reviewed daily.
Minimum Qualifications- Master’s Degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Nursing, Counseling, Education, or Criminal Justice and two (2) years of experience in crisis intervention; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Valid Florida Driver's License required.
- Basic First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certifications required within 1 year of hire.
- Must pass police background check which includes polygraph.
- Must pass Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) training within the first week of hire.
- Polygraph required with the exception of current OPD employees.

- Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
- Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
- Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree;
- Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
