The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technician. This position will be responsible for performing electrical and mechanical inspection, start-up maintenance on the equipment we sell. This is a full-time opportunity for an energetic go-getter. An ideal candidate will be customer service oriented and work well with others. Position requires a high level of correspondence with Project Managers, Service Coordinators and customers.

Responsibilities

• Performs electrical and mechanical inspection and maintenance on equipment to ensure peak performance
• Performs preventative maintenance including belt adjustments, oiling, greasing and cleaning of equipment
• Uses experience and technical skills with preventive maintenance and system operations to determine service requirements
• Interprets engineering drawings in reference to layout, location and operation of the system(s)
• Represents the company in a positive manner to other trades, contractors and owners
• Advises owner/representative of preventive maintenance inspections performed and corrective actions to be taken
• Suggests additional services that are beneficial to customer
• Works in a team-based environment to share information and workload while ensuring customer satisfaction
• Submits required paperwork to Service Coordinator in a timely manner
• Works in a safe manner on a daily basis and ensures that all safety measures are taken at all times
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must have valid driver’s license with good driving record
• Must have current HVAC certification and OSHA 10 Training plus 1-5 years’ experience working as a Service Helper or Service Technician in a residential or commercial environment
• Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software and working proficiency with handheld devices (e.g., Smartphone, iPad)
• Electrical knowledge required and EPA Certification preferred (e.g., HVAC Journeyman, Boiler Operator, Gas Installer, etc.)
• Ability to work in diverse conditions including mechanical equipment rooms with exposure to noisy operating equipment, extreme weather, risk of electrical shock, climbing/working at elevated heights
• Must be able to climb, crawl, stoop, kneel and regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently up to 75 pounds
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and balance multiple duties
