Responsibilities
Assist in the performance of complex maintenance, service, repair, and troubleshooting of cranes, hoists, and related lifting equipment
Perform preventative maintenance on all crane and hoist systems
Apply strong working knowledge of machines and tools, including design, use, repair, and maintenance
Maintain accountability for the safety of the installation and service team
Ensure quality standards during crane and hoist erection and dismantle activities
Adjust, repair, or replace bearings, brakes, cables, guide rails, counterweights, cable sheaves, and buffers
Adjust safety controls, counterweights, and mechanical systems as required
Maintain proper cleaning, organization, and placement of tools and work areas
High school diploma or equivalent
Strong work ethic with a safety-first mindset
Knowledge of crane and hoist mechanical theory and lifting techniques
Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team
Proficient in the use of hand tools and mechanical equipment
Work performed outdoors and in inclement weather conditions
Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights exceeding 200 feet on cranes and hoists
Ability to climb ladders, stairs, tower sections, and crane structures
Overtime and weekend work required
Extensive travel, primarily throughout the southeastern United States
Must be able to travel on short notice
Ability to reach, grasp, position, maneuver, and operate hand tools and replacement parts
Ability to identify wires and components by color and other distinguishing characteristics
Ability to perform fine hand and finger movements on components that are not always visible
Ability to lift, carry, position, and hold parts weighing up to 50 pounds independently and up to 100 pounds with assistance
Ability to handle loads exceeding 500 pounds using mechanical assistance
This is a heavy travel, field-based role supporting multiple job sites across Florida’s east coast. Overnight travel is required.
