Overview McCloskey Mechanical is seeking a
highly experienced HVAC/R Technician with specialized expertise in Commercial Refrigeration Systems, Rack Refrigeration, & Glycol Chiller Systems
.
The ideal candidate will possess advanced knowledge of mechanical system diagnosis, troubleshooting, and installation across Commercial, Industrial, Pharmaceutical, and Institutional sectors.
This position requires a technically proficient individual who can operate independently, respond with urgency to complex challenges, and maintain a high standard of safety, reliability, and workmanship.

Core Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair Commercial Refrigeration Systems, Rack Refrigeration, & Glycol Chiller Systems.
- Perform installations, startups, and retrofits of commercial/industrial HVAC and boiler equipment
- Troubleshoot and service HVAC/R systems, including DX systems, chillers, AHUs, RTUs, VAVs, BMS/BAS controls, and related components
- Interpret electrical and mechanical schematics, control wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications
- Ensure compliance with all local codes, safety regulations, and internal quality standards
- Maintain detailed service records, reports, and documentation in accordance with company protocols.
- Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in Commercial, Industrial, or Institutional HVAC/R and boiler service
- Strong proficiency in combustion analysis, control logic, hydronic system design, and steam principles
- Valid EPA Certification (Type II or Universal)
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
- Solid understanding of building automation systems (BAS/BMS) and control integration
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work independently or as part of a technical team
