Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic
Overview
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel trucks ranging from 28 feet in length to 56 feet. Freightliner trucks with Cummins engines is majority of fleet. Work on engines, brakes, transmissions, etc. Complete daily preventative maintenance in addition to repair work. Will also work on Toyota forklifts and Crown pallet jacks as needed. Need to be computer literate and be knowledgeable with the use of diagnostic software and scanner tools.
Responsibilities- Candidate will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain semi trucks and trailers.
- Candidate will do 80% work on diesel equipment that will include both preventative and reactive maintenance.
- Candidate will make repairs on trailers including but not limited to wiring brake lights, replacing brakes, changing tires, repairing hydraulics.
- Candidate will have to perform DOT inspections and will document the findings.
- Candidate may have to replace water pumps and AC systems.
- Candidate will get work orders off an iPad and will log repairs and check out parts through the work orders on the iPad.
- Candidates could weld or use torches at times.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Orlando, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $34.00/hr.
