- Hourly Pay: $28.50 per hour
- Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE certification obtained up to $700
- Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter (four times per year)
- Sign-On Bonus: $1,750 at 30 days and $1,750 at 90 days
- Schedule:
Monday through Friday; weekends off - Hours:
Second Shift 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm
- Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties including standard maintenance and preventive maintenance
- Diagnoses complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic tools when applicable
- Completes detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
- Replaces defective components as instructed
- Works unsupervised on most tasks
- Performs facility maintenance duties
- Interacts with customers/drivers to determine the nature of the complaint
- Uses Shop Management System and electronic documentation
- Follows all safety, DOT, MOT and corporate compliance guidelines
- Mentors Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels
- Accesses and uses internal and external maintenance documents
- Supports other duties as required to support operations
- SBTIII trained within 180 days (SBT
220) - Completes OEM On-Line diagnostic tool software courses as required by location
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Vocational or Technical Certification or post-secondary degree preferred
- Basic tools required
- Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including:
- Routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work)
- Basic diagnostics and repairs, including AC and electrical systems
- Three (3) years or more relevant work experience preferred
- All other certification as required by location
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy-duty and medium-duty equipment
- Knowledge of computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
- This position requires driving Ryder vehicles; must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
- Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, and background/motor vehicle checks for the last 3 years
