Position SummaryThe Plumbing Foreman is key to managing plumbing construction activities for new builds and remodeling projects. This role involves hands‑on leadership to plumbing crews, fostering quality workmanship, adherence to schedules, compliance with safety standards, and alignment with project specifications. As a mentor, you will help develop apprentices and journeymen, ensuring high‑quality project delivery.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties- Organize and supervise plumbing crews on assigned projects.
- Assign and monitor tasks to ensure workers are well‑matched to their duties.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate apprentices and journeymen for skill and safety development.
- Interpret and implement project specifications, contracts, and blueprints.
- Participate in construction and coordination meetings.
- Ensure project progress is on schedule and enforce deadlines.
- Oversee daily work inspections to ensure quality and safety compliance.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to address technical challenges.
- Monitor resources to minimize waste and control costs.
- Advise leadership on job‑related issues and propose solutions.
- Enforce GEMCO's safety culture in accordance with OSHA and company policies.
- Perform other related duties as needed.
- In-depth knowledge of plumbing systems, codes, and installation methods.
- Familiarity with various phases of building construction.
- Able to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Effective leadership and supervisory skills to manage a team.
- Strong problem‑solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Requirements- High school diploma or equivalent; technical/trade school or apprenticeship completion preferred.
- 6 years of commercial/industrial plumbing experience, including 2 years in a leadership role.
- Working knowledge of IPC/UPC and Indiana/local codes; ability to read blueprints and technical specs.
- Proficient in the layout and installation of various plumbing systems.
- Hands‑on experience with multiple plumbing materials and techniques.
- Strong planning and mentoring skills; proven track record of safety and productivity.
- Computer proficiency with relevant field applications.
- Valid driver's license and insurable driving record; availability for travel and overtime as needed.
- Physical ability to lift 50 lbs and perform work in various conditions.
- Completion of background check and drug screening.
