Diesel Technician/Mechanic (C) - 2nd shift

Job located in Apopka, FL (Orlando, FL). Compensation: $72,800.00-$ (industry range). 100% full‑time.

Summary of Position

Knowledge and ability to perform preventive maintenance services on heavy‑duty and light‑duty trucks, including gasoline, diesel, and CNG systems.

Essential Job Functions
  • Aid/assist drivers in completion of daily post‑trip and vehicle safety inspections.
  • Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment during safety lane and PMs.
  • Complete lubrication and repairs on lubricant points as per schedule.
  • Learn and utilize brake inspection procedures, document daily.
  • Perform basic repairs and maintenance on heavy‑duty equipment (rear load, front load, roll off, grapple, port‑a‑let, chassis, body).
  • Communicate with A & B technicians/drivers regarding vehicle issues and preventive techniques.
  • Complete paperwork/computer data entry (parts usage, repair time).
  • Maintain clean, safe work area, comply with corporate/OSHA standards.
  • Conduct repairs using factory service manuals.
  • Maintain high standard of ethics and dependability.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Assist drivers with pre/post‑trip process.
  • Identify visible repairs required on vehicles (lights, mirrors, leaks, body damage).
  • Assist in fluid top‑up (oil, hydraulic fluids, transmission fluid, DEF).
  • Knowledge of tire inspections and air pressure adjustments.
  • Assist technicians with repair of lights, wipers, mirrors.
  • Understand and use lubrication charts for waste trucks.
  • Assist in repair of basic engine, transmission, brake, suspension, electrical, hydraulic, body components.
  • Know all tools required to perform repairs and maintenance.
  • Basic computer skills as required.
