Valencia College is seeking a three full‑time Security Officers to join our dedicated team at our West Campus
. You’ll play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for our students, faculty, staff, and visitors by ensuring traffic safety, protecting college property, and upholding good order. Successful candidates will possess the ability to communicate effectively, be available to work different shifts and at various campus locations, and demonstrate the ability to describe people and objects in accurate detail.

• This position operates in a fully onsite environment.

Responsible for ensuring traffic safety, protection of college property and personnel and the preservation of good order.

Available shifts:

• Two opening for 2:00pm to 10:00pm (Days off TBD)
• One opening for 10:00pm to 6:00am (Days off TBD)

Salary Range: $34,780 per year

• Regulates parking and traffic to prevent accidents and congestion.
• Patrols parking areas in an effort to prevent unauthorized loitering, parking, thefts, and vandalism.
• Issues citations for parking violations.
• Locks down buildings at the close of classes.
• Records information on persons entering buildings after business hours and identifies persons on college property when the College is closed.
• Patrols building interiors and walkways.
• Is alert to the normal positioning, functioning, or operation of emergency and safety systems.
• Offers assistance to college personnel, students, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Responds to emergencies of a medical, criminal, and mechanical nature.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Drivers License Requirement: Must possess valid Florida Driver’s License. Employee will be required to operate a college vehicle, including but not limited to on and between campuses and in the local community, in order to perform the essential job functions.

As a condition of employment, must be able to meet the Evacuation Chair Proficiency test requirements requiring independent transportation of an individual sitting in an evacuation chair down a flight(s) of stairs.
