Wycliffe Associates is a ministry, and our mission of Bible translation is a special calling. Wycliffe Associates trains Christians all over the world to become Bible translators and we seek to safeguard the integrity of the Scriptures through that process. While specific skills and experience are a major part of this role, what is most important to Wycliffe Associates, and to the Lord, is a person’s heart.
The person who fills this role should have a special calling from the Lord for ministry. In this role you are considered a minister of the gospel. For such a high calling, our lives and values should reflect that pure and holy calling. As we are told in 1 Peter 1: 15-16, “But just as He who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do, for it is written: ‘Be holy, because I am holy.’
The SE Content Reviewer ensures that SE study and training materials are biblically accurate, theologically aligned with WA’s doctrinal guidelines, and consistent in design and quality. This role conducts careful scriptural review using sound hermeneutical principles to confirm faithful, context-based interpretation. The Reviewer ensures that the content is clear, usable, and appropriate for various spiritual maturity levels, considering those who received the Bible in their language for the first time.
You will collaborate with the content designer, editor, and a second theological checker. The Reviewer provides constructive feedback and supports a collaborative refinement process.
Job Responsibilities- Uphold and operate from the SE Program’s purpose and vision, ensuring all responsibilities support and strengthen its mission.
- Review SE study and training materials for biblical accuracy using sound hermeneutical principles.
- Ensure all content aligns with WA’s doctrinal guidelines, theological standards, and ministry values.
- Evaluate materials for clear language, practical applications, ensuring lessons can be lived out and practiced in real-life discipleship contexts.
- Verify consistency in design, structure, tone, and formatting across all materials.
- Conduct scriptural cross-referencing and confirm faithful, context-based interpretation.
- Provide constructive feedback to content designer(s) and the secondary theological checker.
- Identify theological inconsistencies, unclear teaching, or areas needing simplification.
- Participate in a collaborative, step-by-step review process to refine and finalize content.
- Maintain a posture of humility, integrity, and prayerfulness in handling biblical content.
- Protect the theological fidelity and disciple-making effectiveness of all SE materials.
- Has a personal, growing relationship with Jesus Christ, and exhibits Christ-like behavior.
- Personal missional commitment to spread the knowledge of Jesus Christ through partnering with church leaders and Bible translators around the world.
- International field experience working in remote areas with marginalized people, a plus.
- Computer literate, possessing a working knowledge of administration and data processing programs, as well as a strong knowledge of Microsoft applications.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
